Use data to drive decisions with CAN Active Insights

October 27, 2025

The CAN Active Insights platform is a collective initiative to provide data and analytics that drive decisions in sport, physical activity, recreation, and parks.

The Canadian Fitness and Lifestyle Research Institute (CFLRI), the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA), and the Sport Information Resource Centre (SIRC) are proud to announce the upcoming launch of the CAN Active Insights platform.

With 500+ municipalities and sector organizations already involved in the National Infrastructure Database, CAN Active Insights brings new layers of data intelligence into one platform. This includes the launch of Measuring Impact (Social Value), which enables organizations to automatically report on the $ community savings they’re generating by getting residents more active.

Designed as a collaborative initiative to empower decision-makers across Canada, the platform will gather and transform data into powerful evidence that shapes the future of sport, physical activity, recreation, and parks from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

More than ever, there is a need for contextualized insights and evidence that translates data into clear policy and planning guidance. This visionary Canadian platform will transform infrastructure, participation, and economic impact data into powerful insights, ultimately helping decision-makers plan, fund, and evaluate with confidence.
