Using ActiveXchange’s demand modelling, which was supported by the City of Onkaparinga, Softball SA has been awarded funding from the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR) over the next two years for a new staff member to help grow the game and get more people active.
Softball SA will now be able to use the platform to drive data-led decision making on how, and where, to deliver programming enabled by this funding.
Deliver softball in a region with no previous organised softball competitions, and earmark regions for expansion.
Increase interest and awareness of Softball and grow registered members in the regions identified, supported by ActiveXchange modelling.
Design and implement templates that can be rolled out to all regions, with similar ActiveXchange datasets.
Current (and historical) participation data in the identified area with supporting analysis showing high demand, low conversion and no current Softball competitions, or associations based in the focus area.
Learning more about the participants, demand and habits of those who engage in Softball, to strengthen understanding of new programs and models to more accurately cater for the market now and into the future.
Shows the current membership compared to the predicted demand in 2030. This provides a snapshot of where the biggest growth areas are likely to be so that resources can be focused and strategies implemented in advance.
This program would not have been possible without the support and insight from ActiveXchange. The ActiveXchange Sport platform was the catalyst for us to deliver this project and the assistance provided by ActiveXchange has been invaluable. We also acknowledge and thank the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing for the grant support and belief in our project, and we are grateful for the collaboration with the City of Onkaparinga.
